A coworker of mine requested a headband with a flower, for her daughter. So as usual, I said of course I will make one, no problem. Off I went in search of the perfect pattern. And sidetracked again, I mean really WHO could resist an owl headband? Not this girl. I love that the owls are created from stitches! This is definitely not a beginner pattern. The pattern did not include pictures for when the stitches get a little complicated. All in all, I love how it came out. I used leftover Vanna’s Choice in Silver Heather from the Picture Blanket and of course some of Grandma’s Buttons. Now I have to get back to the Flower Headband search. Let’s hope this Crafting Spazz doesn’t get sidetracked again. Happy day everyone!

My newest adventure, call it what you will. I will go with picture crochet, portrait crochet, graph crochet. I was searching for something to make for my parents Christmas present when I stumbled on portrait crochet images. Wow was I impressed with the detail of the crochet so on the search I went. Hours of research, but it was worth it to see the look on my parents face.
The way I did this blanket, you do not carry the yarn through, its a cut and square knot. This meant I had to back my crochet, so off to Joann’s I went in search of holiday sale fleece.
And here is the original picture i started with of my parents 1940 Ford.

Well the owl hat started it and now I have orders for three more plus a Sock Monkey hat and a Hello Kitty hat and I played around with a Grinch hat too. I am also working on a beautiful crochet purse I found. Now if you are reading this I am sure what came to mind was a hobo type market bag or a tiny crochet flap purse. I am here to stop that thinking process right now. It is the cutest purse EVER. I found the pattern on Ravelry and I have fallen in love with it. It is called Gently Love Bag. The pattern was $5.50, and English is not the authors native tongue but I seem to be doing fine so far. Here is a picture from the pattern. Here is also the Hello Kitty hat in brown, white and black to match a kitten the person had. Sorry for the picture quality, I always forget to take a picture until the last minute. I got this pattern from a great blog called Crochet in Color.
